My Reading Life – William Daniel

MRL William Daniel

When I was younger than I am now, I used to read picture books in a series like Elephant and Piggie by Mo Willems.

I also read a lot of joke books which is why I chose to write one. Now I still read joke books as well as some books from authors I’ve met. These books include general fiction and devotionals. I have also been known to read historical books from the era of World War II.

I got into reading originally for the wonderful nuggets of humor dissipated among the stories which is a key component I look for in writing. Authorship was another reason for my reading to pick up as I met so many people who guided my reading interests beyond the depths of Amazon and Google.

The favorable places of mine to read are on my bed, situated in the cloth of a beach chair on the beach, and sitting outside with the sun beating against my face (with sunscreen, of course).

My favorite books are You’re Joking Me (that I started writing in 2020), The Boys Who Challenged Hitler by Philip Hoose, and Code of Silence by Tim Shoemaker. A big part of my reading has been finding a books or series that I actually enjoy reading, so if a book is boring to you, don’t be ashamed to skip it to find a book that inspires you and challenges you at the same time.
