Tonya L. Matthews is a writer of Christian fiction and children’s books. Growing up on a family farm, Tonya preferred creativity indoors rather than hoeing tobacco and running hogs. Cardboard boxes were the beginning of something great—a big Barbie dollhouse, a long, winding tunnel-maze, or a snack stand for neighbors to buy treats. Her first writing endeavor was a book in high school—hand-written and then I typed on her typewriter. Tonya has always found writing to be a healthy escape during life’s challenges—channeling emotions into storylines and crafting messages of hope. Her first two novels in The Treasure Series—Treasure atop the Mountain and Roxie Applesauce—received Selah Awards. The third novel, Get Will, is scheduled for release in 2026. Her children’s books include A Boy Needs Santa Claus Because… and A Girl’s Christmas Gone Perfectly Wrong, along with six titles in The Color Series. Tonya lives in Kentucky with her husband, Todd. They have two adult daughters.

As Kage unravels his past and Gracie clings to her fragile future, their unexpected connection becomes a lifeline for both.
